Sorority Rush Coaching
Why does anyone need Sorority Rush Coaching?
This is nothing like your mom's rush. Even the terminology has changed. Recruitment has evolved and expectations of potential new members are huge! I will guide you through each step right up to bid day.
Rush prep is time consuming. I will make sure you meet all deadlines. I will be your coach to ensure you stand out from the crowd of pnm’s in each round.
Sorority life is important to thousands of girls when selecting their college. Through thoughtful, tailored preparation, I will give you your best shot of crushing your rush, being true to yourself, and ultimately choosing the best house for you!
Recruitment is stressful, and I will help you understand the entire process so that you feel truly ready. I will be an emotional support who can also help you make thoughtful decisions.
What do we work on to prepare?
Paperwork
Meeting all the deadlines and ensuring that each girl has checked and triple-checked all the boxes, including sending transcripts, photos, filling out all paperwork, viewing mandatory videos and attending meetings. If things are missed, it's hard to fix this later.
Resume, LOR, and Video
Creating a gorgeous resume that captures your best self, followed by engaging with alumni to receive letters of recommendation. Writing personal statements that show you off. Planning your personal video if this is required. First impressions are everything.
Overall look
Styling beautiful looks that are true to who you are, and make you feel awesome. Dresses, Skirts, Shoes, Jewelry, Hairstyles - I'll help you make amazing, original, stand-out choices. We will also work together on your online presence, and ensure you are showcasing your true, best self on social media.
Conversation
Communicating.
Talking. Listening. Body Language. Conversations with members in each house is how you get to know each other. We will practice the top questions you will most likely be asked, learn what to look for at each round, and discuss what questions you will have.
Who am I and why do i think i can help you?
1994, Sig Ep Barn Dance
1993, Indiana University Redstepper
HI! My name is Jennifer Carabetta. I grew up in Pennsylvania, and I was a Sorority Girl at Indiana University, and also a dancer on the Redstepper Dance Team. I was the Panhellenic Representative for our house, and my senior year I was selected to be a Rush Counselor (Gamma Chi). I loved my friends and experiences, and I continue to meet new sisters from various chapters all over the country, and love sharing that bond!
I have been a High School theatre and dance teacher for 20 years in the Denver area, and I have had all kinds of students in my classes - from those destined for Broadway, to the shy girl in the back who hopes I never call on her. I learned pretty quickly how to help each student gain confidence, and bring out the best in each one through rehearsal, connections, conversations, and preparation. I have students to this day that single out theatre class as a game-changer for their confidence.
Fast forward a couple decades, as a mom of a college-aged daughter, I had no idea how much it had all changed! There are many more steps, and layers of preparation for the experience. Sorority recruitment is truly that - an experience. Making new friends on your floor and in your rush group, dealing with the ups and downs, the late nights and early mornings, all while trying to be a student, away from those that love and know you best, for the very first time in your life can be extremely overwhelming.
Practice and prepartion are key to a more enjoyable rush experience. We will get all the paperwork DONE. We will practice conversation techiniques. We will try on the outfits. We will talk about what she is most nervous about. I will explain what all of her options are, right up to the final Pref Day decision. I will help each girl learn to trust her instincts during a conversation, choosing an outfit, giving a compliment, deciding which houses she felt most comfortable in - all of it.
I am absolutely not here to change anyone. I am here to help young women be who they want to be and think about how they want to grow as they begin this new chapter in life. I wholeheartedly believe the experience of recruitment, and being a part of a sorority is so positive, and I will help maximize your chances in the best way that I can.
xoxo, Jen Carabetta
